Sarah Tradewell is pleased to be making
Victoria her new home and is looking forward to getting involved in the
fiddling scene here.
Her fiddle performing has taken her from Saskatchewan to the Maritime
Fiddle Festival in Halifax, the Barn in Cape Breton, camp in Sandpoint,
Idaho, and now to Victoria. She has studied fiddle with Calvin Vollrath,
Kelli Trottier, Kimber Ludiker, John Arcand, and Shamma Sabir and is
currently with Daniel Lapp. Sarah has been an active performer in
Saskatchewan.
Her eclectic mix of fiddle styles and her singing ability earned her a
showcase at the 2007 Saskatchewan Country Music Awards. Sarah has
performed with Scott Woods, been the featured fiddler at the Northern
Lights Casino and has been a regular performer for the Prince Albert
Exhibition Grandstand Show. As well as being a sought-after performer,
Sarah has competed successfully in the Championship Class at Fiddle
Contests in Saskatchewan and Albert and was one of the top 4
Saskatchewan Fiddlers before her recent move to Victoria. Fifteen year
old Sarah is currently studying classical violin and musical theatre at
the Victoria Conservatory of Music and is part of the VCM Collegium
program, as well as continuing her studies in piano and singing with her
mother. Sarah is also active in her school’s music program: playing
French Horn in Concert Band, Trombone and Trumpet in the Jazz Band, and
singing in the Concert Choir and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble.
With her mom on piano and backup vocals, Sarah is available to entertain
on fiddle, classical violin, folk/country singing or a mix of all three.
